Who can request deletion

• The registered account holder (couples, guests, or vendors) using the email or phone number associated with the account.
• An authorised representative (e.g. legal guardian or estate) with appropriate proof of authority—we may ask for documentation before proceeding.

What to include in your email

To help us locate your account and protect your data, please include:

• Subject line: “Account and data deletion request” (pre-filled if you use the button above).
• Registered email address or phone number exactly as used on ShaadiRoot.
• Your full name as it appears on the account (if applicable).
• For vendor accounts: business or brand name and vendor category (e.g. photographer, venue) if different from your personal name.
• Optional: brief reason for deletion—we use feedback only to improve our service, not for marketing.

What we typically delete or anonymise

After we verify your identity, we will delete or irreversibly anonymise personal data tied to your account where applicable, including examples such as:

• Account credentials, profile details, and preferences.
• Contact information and content you uploaded that is stored solely for your use of the platform.
• Vendor business profile and listing data associated with your vendor account, subject to completion of outstanding obligations where required.

Some information may appear in aggregated or de-identified form that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.

What we may retain (legal & operational)

In limited circumstances we may retain certain data as required or permitted by law, including:

• Transaction and billing records for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution, for the period required by applicable law.
• Records necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims until those matters are resolved.
• Minimal technical logs retained for security and abuse prevention, often in shortened or anonymised form.

How long it takes

We aim to acknowledge your request within a few business days and complete deletion or anonymisation within thirty (30) days unless a longer period is required by law or exceptional technical complexity. We will notify you at the email address from which you contacted us if we need more time or information.

Signed in with Google, Meta, or other providers

If you used a social or third-party login, you can also remove ShaadiRoot's access from your provider account settings. That does not automatically delete data we already hold—please still email [email protected] for a complete account deletion on our systems.
